Shandon Shield
The annual Shandon Shield competition is made up of 10 strokeplay competitions in which players can earn points, the leading gent and lady at the end of the year will be
awarded the Shandon Shield. Each competition in the Shield has a separate ladies and gents section and is an 18 Hole Nett competition.
Points towards the Shield are awarded as follows:
- Best 18 Nett = 8 points
- 2nd 18 Nett = 6 points
- 3rd 18 Nett = 4 points
- 4th 18 Nett = 3 points
- 2 points are awarded to every player who returns a card in the competition
Players may play in all 10 competitions within the Shield with their 8 best performances to count towards the Shield. In the event of ties, the player with the most top 4
scores will be deemed the winner, if there is still a tie then the player with the most top 3 finishes will be deemed the winner and so on.
